Description
A gentle, poetic and deeply personal gift
Looking for a gift that's not just beautiful but also holds a special feeling? A personalized dreamy children's watercolour portrait is an original illustration that combines the soft aesthetics of watercolour, the poetry of childhood, and your child's uniqueness. Artist Lala creates an exclusive piece from your idea and photos, perfect as a special gift for a birthday, christening, nursery, family memory, or simply a cosy artwork for your home.
This is not just an ordinary portrait. On the contrary, it is an emotional, nostalgic, and aesthetic illustration, depicting a child as if from a gentle dream or memory. Perhaps you envision a seaside scene with a balloon, a meadow with flowers, a rainy day with an umbrella, a paper boat, a kite, a shell, or simply a calm gaze at the sky. Such works are born in Lala's hands – quiet, sensitive, poetic, and perfect for gifting.
How does the ordering process work?
You provide the main idea, and Lala transforms it into a watercolour illustration. The clearer your vision, the more accurately the mood, child's character, and fine details can be conveyed. You can describe not only the child but also the surroundings, objects, clothing, or emotion you wish to see in the artwork.
For example, you might write:
- “I want to depict a girl by the sea with a red balloon on a windy day, in a very gentle and nostalgic mood.”
- “I want a boy in a yellow raincoat, standing in a meadow after the rain, holding a paper boat.”
- “I want a bright, dreamy meadow scene with a child, flowers, and a gaze at the sky.”
If you don't have a fully formed idea – that's okay. Just write a brief direction, mood, or a few key highlights, and we'll help refine the vision. The most important thing is to convey the overall feeling: calm, gentle, nostalgic, poetic, windy, bright, or cosy.
What kind of photos are needed?
To make the portrait as similar and high-quality as possible, it's crucial to provide suitable photos. The best main photo is full-length, from head to toe. This helps to more accurately convey the child's proportions, posture, clothing, and overall silhouette, especially if the illustration is to feature the whole figure or a more active scene.
We also highly recommend adding additional photos for a more detailed portrait. They help to better capture:
- facial features;
- gaze and expression;
- hair colour and style;
- eye expression;
- favourite clothing;
- small details that create likeness.
If you want to include additional elements – for example, a balloon, flowers, raincoat, umbrella, kite, shell, paper boat, or another important detail – it's worth adding their photos or at least briefly describing how they should look. The more clear visual information we have, the more sensitive and individual the final result will be.
What should you write with the order?
We recommend briefly describing the child and the desired scene with the order. There's no need for lengthy writing – sometimes a few sentences are enough. It's helpful to mention:
- who will be depicted;
- the environment you want to see the child in;
- which objects or symbols you want to include;
- the mood you wish to convey;
- the colours or aesthetics you like.
For example: “We want a very gentle seaside portrait with a balloon and lots of sky.” Or: “She is very calm and dreamy, we would like a light meadow scene with flowers and bright colours.”
